Managing Editor & Writer Corporate Voice

Position:

The Managing Editor and Writer,  Corporate Voice will focus on key corporate messaging initiatives and documents with strategic and cross-functional impact, including Intuitive’s annual corporate report and the company’s ESG report.

You will master our unique voice and tone and contribute to its evolution, framing written corporate content in a clear and compelling manner based on our mission, true to our culture, and rooted in our scientific, patients-first approach.

While located within GPA, you will work with key stakeholders across the business, including executives, core business functions, subject matter experts and those with external communications roles and scope, to build global alignment, integrate perspectives, and manage a corporate voice for key Intuitive reports and messaging initiatives.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Drive narrative and message clarity and consistency for key corporate documents, including  shaping the voice for Intuitive’s annual corporate report and its sustainability report and broader messaging initiatives.
  •  Contribute to crafting and have primary editing responsibility for high-profile company reports, including relevant corporate messaging to engage target audiences. In doing so, interact and collaborate with all levels of pertinent staff, including executive leadership.
  • Write and/or edit other long-form content for GPA and other departments as needed.
  • Establish, manage, and maintain the highest editorial standards, promoting them throughout the organization.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and audit materials across the business to ensure, clarity, and consistency of messaging  and the effectiveness of editorial processes and  training.
  • Build collaborative working relationships among Global Public Affairs colleagues, executive staff, and key cross-functional partners. 
  • Partner with content creators and provide guidance on corporate voice, helping them support Intuitive’s voice, history, and culture.

Skills/Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Business, or related experience.
  • Experience/background in academia, journalism, corporate communications, investor relations, or another relevant field a plus.
  • Ability to work in a global, highly matrixed organization, with capability to collaborate, communicate about, and manage a high-volume portfolio with evolving priorities.
  • Experienced and effective communicator who is comfortable working with senior-level executives.
  • Strong writing, editing, project management, and collaboration skills and a demonstrated ability to develop strategic and impactful copy and messaging.
  • Demonstrated excellence in technical writing and editing and ability to communicate complex ideas and data clearly and compellingly.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy, quality, and integrity.
  •  Understanding of thought leadership on industry trends, market events and the competitive landscape, and the ability to create associated and strategic content.
  • Strong creative and strategic mindset with ability to influence and advise on  content across the business.
  • Serve as a source of knowledge and best practices for content strategy and healthcare communications.
  • Success in team-oriented  environment, where results are dependent on the ability to balance a bias for action with the need for cross-functional integration.
  • Financial writing experience and background in healthcare (or similar regulated environment) preferred but not required.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target salary ranges are listed.
