What you'll do...

Future is looking for an experienced Managing Editor to launch, guide, and give voice to an new newsletter product.

This daily newsletter will sit at the intersection of technology and life and needs a writer/editor who is fascinated, entertained, and even surprised by every aspect of life in the digital age. The Newsletter Managing Editor will report to TechRadar’s Editor at Large and will work with them to develop and launch the newsletter. You will continue working with them to create a daily content plan and promote the newsletter.

  • Define the newsletter's voice and outlook and make daily destination reading.
  • Create and source content, tell tales, and write a rich and engaging daily newsletter that covers many tech-infused topics across a broad spectrum of categories
  • Create an editorial calendar that identifies big themes and editorial opportunities. 
  • Build partnerships that can deliver content integrations like daily games and puzzles.
  • Be the face of the brand and represent it across other Future properties, in the media, and occasionally, on stage.
  • Be responsible for social media outreach and content creation on different platforms
  • Communicate with Future’s newsletter operations and e-commerce teams to ensure promotion and delivery.
  • Track newsletter performance and adjust to maximize opens, shares, and subscription levels
  • Collaborate with several Future brands to cull ideas and concepts that can help drive the newsletter narrative.
  • Manage a roster of guest writers and the freelance budget

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve...

  • A four-year degree in journalism — or equivalent — required.
  • Minimum 10 years of full-time professional experience in journalism — preferably on an all-digital platform. A focus on technology journalism is a plus.
  • Newsletter writing/management and building experience
  • Have broad knowledge of different consumer-facing topics.
  • You are a voracious consumer of entertainment, culture, lifestyle, and other kinds of content with a focus on how they relate to the tech and digital space.
  • Excellent writing skills with a clear and recognizable voice
  • Strong social media capabilities and presence.
  • Must have experience and facility in all forms of digital storytelling including TikTok, Reels, YouTube.
  • Experience with one or more content management systems

Please note, the salary range for this position is $85,000-$115,000

This is a Hybrid role from our New York Office, working three days from the office, two from home
