For over 20 years, we have served our clients across The Balkans with our Air, Ocean, Road, and Warehousing product portfolio and as we look to continue our growth, we are recruiting for a world class Managing Director to join our well-established and successful Bosnia and Herzegovina operations in Sarajevo.
For over 40 years, we have served our clients with our Air, Ocean, Road, and Warehousing portfolio and we have enjoyed another very successful year at cargo-partner having strengthened our global position by joining the Nippon Express Group.
The Managing Director will be responsible for the country P&L and will oversee our operations across Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as focus on the commercial development of our product portfolio. We expect the Managing Director to lead by example whilst building strong long lasting relationships with new and existing customers to maximize both customer satisfaction and revenue. To succeed you will need to have Branch Management experience or held a similar role at another freight forwarder, preferably knowledgeable in both commercial and operations.
This position will best suit a hands on, communicative leader, that has exceptional knowledge of The Balkan markets. The incumbent will also need to be results driven, with a commercial acumen and the appetite to grow our market share across the region.
- Formulate, monitor, and achieve the Country quarterly objectives
- Execute on monthly targets and controls as defined by country and regional leadership
- Manage all the business unit of the branch under positive figures
- Manage costs within the branch and look for continuous efficiencies and improvements
- Prepare the annual budget and deliver on the bottom line budget commitment
- Set and report on revenue targets for the branch
- Set the cost budget in line with the strategy and manage costs or adjust costs according to business requirements
- Manage branch assets in line with targets, forecasts, and strategy requirements
- Grow top line of the branch through active involvement in the sales process
- Identify opportunities and risks within the business that may impact the business environment and ability to deliver to shareholder commitments
- Ensure compliance with internal and external controls and KPI’s set at the global, regional and local levels
- Maintain agents relationships in accordance with company’s directive
People Management
- Build and maintain the spirit of the team
- Manage the delivery of the organization’s objectives through communication, measurement and motivation of people
- Manage people’s performance and growth to create a sustainable business environment and manage through direct reports to meet company targets and strategies
- Build teams to ensure progress and continuity of business
- Provide guidance, coaching and support to the team
- Motivate and develop people through performance management systems
- Work with HR to develop the people through identifying and providing relevant training
- Engage with direct reports and work with HR to ensure that career path is clear for the employees, and that there is a succession plan in place for the branch
Operational Excellence
- Manage and deliver on client’s commitments based on local, regional and global strategy
- Use the gateways (where relevant) to maximize cargo-partner network efficiency
- Manage and develop client relationships from all areas of the branch business
- Partner with existing clients to retain and grow business
- Monitor implementation of new accounts to ensure all KPIs are met
- Seek cost efficiencies and process improvements within different functions of the branch
