Role Summary
Sophos is seeking an experienced and motivated Threat Operations Manager to support its Managed Detection and Response (MDR) customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Security Operations Center's operations and personnel, ensuring both operational effectiveness and mission fulfillment. This role involves overseeing day-to-day security operations while ensuring the strategic objectives of the MDR Team are met
What You Will Do
- Lead multiple Threat Operations teams across various regions to ensure timely, consistent, and superior service delivery.
- Guide operational efforts to identify, investigate, and neutralize threats, resulting in tangible outcomes that reduce the risk of cyber-attacks in our customers’ environments.
- Drive adherence to established policies, procedures, and standards to produce repeatable outcomes aligned with Managed Detection and Response goals and objectives.
- Develop and manage operational shift schedules to ensure sustained coverage of the Security Operations Center, which operates 24/7/365.
- Evaluate Key Performance Indicator (KPI) metrics to determine the operational efficacy and capacity of the MDR service.
- Conduct team member assessments and foster continuous improvement practices.
- Lead projects aimed at enhancing the operational delivery of the MDR service.
- Support Sophos Sales teams to drive customer retention and growth.
- Facilitate excellence in customer experience, distinguishing Sophos from its competitors.
- Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, business leaders, and internal technology teams.
- Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills to contribute to the resolution of customer issues.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and competitive products.
What You Will Bring
- 5+ years of experience in a cybersecurity environment, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or relevant, commensurate work experience.
- Experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or similar environment, including identifying indications of compromise or attack and responding to incidents.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong ability to handle high-pressure situations productively and professionally.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Experience with endpoint and network security, including IDS, IPS, EDR, ATP, malware defenses, and monitoring.
- Threat hunting experience.
- Knowledge of common adversary tactics and techniques, such as the MITRE ATT&CK framework
