As Manager of Tax Operations, you’ll be part of the Tax Operations team ensuring
Nielsen’s adherence to tax laws and regulations. You will prepare submissions of tax
data to support Nielsen’s tax reporting obligations, including direct and indirect tax
returns, transfer pricing obligations, and tax inputs into financial statements. In
addition, you will support the development of tax policies that will help provide
guidance to our Finance team. You’ll play a leading role in supporting knowledge
transfer and tax process design as we establish a new GCC tax team.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience
- 5-7 years of experience in tax compliance or a related field in US or EU
- Experience with data automation and visualization tools (preferred Alteryx/Power BI)
Preferred qualifications
- Professional qualification in tax in US or EU (CPA, Chartered Accountant, JD)
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage cross functional teams
- Proficient in the use of tax compliance and provision software and technology
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to manage large datasets
- Experience with SAP
- Outstanding communication skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders
- Ability to conceptualize and manage multiple tasks while meeting the required timeline
- Knowledge of tax accounting principles, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
Responsibilities
- Coordinate tax documentation preparation and support for US and state income tax filings, including
- Global trial balance support for domestic and international tax computations for the US tax return, statutory filings and non-US returns
- Coordinate movements in the fixed assets, intangibles, and IDSW and computation of tax basis depreciation for US and state tax computations and compute tax basis depreciation Withholding tax Foreign bank account reporting State allocation and apportionment data Maintain Tax Master Data, including legal entity classifications and legal entity to SAP mapping tables
- Assist with data gathering and cleansing for transfer pricing models, and execution of period TP intercompany flows
- Coordinate US, state, and local payments through use of external payment
- processor and coordination with treasury team, track and monitor payments in the general ledger
- Support preparation of monthly tax reporting packages, leveraging Longview Tax
- Provision, including balance sheet fluxes, consolidated ETR package, global deferred tax inventory, cash tax reporting
- Support knowledge transfer and ensure tax process design as part of the establishment of a new GCC tax team
