Manager/ Senior Manager Business Development (Liquor Practice Area)

As a Business Development Manager in our Liquor practice area, our ideal hunter is an ambitious, data-savvy individual who thrives on connecting with both existing and prospective clients offering solutions to help them understand the market landscape and their opportunities within it. As a business selling data and insights, we seek hunters who deeply understand the CPG and Liquor industry and can effectively communicate the value of these data-driven insights to our target audience. With their strategic thinking, persuasive skills, and relentless pursuit of new business opportunities, our hunters play a pivotal role in expanding our customer base and driving revenue growth for our clients and our business.   

Responsibilities 

  • Sales and Business Development, both new sales and up-selling with an existing client 
  • Identify potential clients among small manufacturers and assess their data requirements. 
  • Proactively reach clients through various channels and leverage the internal SDR team. 
  • Present and demonstrate the data offerings, highlighting their benefits and value to clients. 
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements while ensuring profitability for the data provider. 
  • Close sales deals and achieve sales targets. 
  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients, competitors, and market trends. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as their main point of contact. 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, sales activities, and data transactions.

You thrive in a fast-paced sales environment, have exceptional commercial acumen and very strong client relationship and negotiation skills. A proven people leader, who is passionate about developing and growing talent, who has a track record of building morale and high team engagement. You are a team player who has the ability to collaborate with peers and contribute to the success of NIQ.

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field. 
  • Proven experience in sales or client servicing, preferably in a data-related industry. 
  • Experience in using or understanding of consumer panel data. 
  • Liquor industry experience preferred. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities. 
  • Customer-focused approach with a knack for building and maintaining relationships. 
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to understand and explain complex data solutions. 
  • Self-motivated and target-driven, able to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Proficiency in CRM software and MS Office applications. 
  • Knowledge of small manufacturing industries and their data needs is a plus.
