Our Talent Operations team is the heartbeat of our People and Places function, responsible for building global scalable tools, systems, processes , and dashboards that support our employees at every stage of their employee journey. We are helping transform the way that the People and Places Team delivers service to employees.

The Manager of Toast’s People Systems and Data Operations teams is a member of the People  team Technology Operations organisation within Shared Services.  In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the management of a team of HRIS and Data analysts.  This role will manage the capacity planning, prioritisation and workflow execution of small to large People technology team projects that are pivotal to the success of enabling Toast’s digital transformation within a shared services organisation. This position will guide the delivery of solutions across the People Team ecosystem with a specific focus on enhancing the employee experience, through the optimisation of Toasts’s current technology landscape and with investment in new, integrated solutions. 

This role reports functionally to the Sr Manager of HR Systems & dotted line reporting to the In-Country People Team Sr Manager of HR Shared Services. 

About this roll* (Responsibilities) 

  • Collaborate with Workday Product Owners and Shared Services Analysts to inform the prioritisation and execution expectations of technology and operational roadmap initiatives.
  • Lead, manage, coach and develop the HRIS and Data analysts and ensure that they are working on the most important tasks in support of people team objectives 
  • Work’s within an agile, sprint based operation, breaking down complex problems into manageable solutions; replacing manual efforts with automation where possible.
  • Utilises Shared Services metrics to ensure program management is meeting established people team operational goals.
  • Enhances the Workday architecture to include ongoing optimization and modification of the existing design while ensuring that the HR Technology team achieves outcomes focused on innovation, efficiency and employee experience. 
  • Leads the Testing program coordination for technology change requests for Workday
  • Manages the Workday release programs, informing people team stakeholders about downtime, deprecations and provides analysis on automatic enhancements, making recommendations for uptake
  • Advocate and influence the implementation of new technology through the use of data driven analysis.  
  • Establishes project plans and aligns resources and capacity planning against People Team prioritization efforts.
  • Scales existing technology, establishing a positive ROi for current infrastructure investment 

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements) 

  • Requires a minimum of 9+ years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Business Administration
  • 2-3 years of experience managing and coaching HRIS analysts that utilize Workday.
  • Expert knowledge of Workday HCM and at least one other specialized module (Absence Management, Payroll, Benefits, Advanced Compensation, Performance Management, Time Entry)
  • Understands how company systems are integrated within and outside of the HR organization
  • Has worked in a highly matrixed, global organization 
  • Experienced working in a Sox based environment and have been responsible for programs and processes that are Sox compliant
  • End-to-end process understanding with an ability to develop and maintain processes, and HR service center procedures.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and sound influential skills
  • Highly skilled project management experience with a demonstrated ability to effectively manage several objectives simultaneously while prioritizing and executing technology roadmap plans..
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work through processes, identify and implement process improvements and resolve complex situations.

Preferred:

  • Workday certified win HCM.  Prior experience designing, developing and configuring Workday HCM modules.
