Manager, Patient Engagement & Recruitment

POSITION OVERVIEW

Science 37’s mission is to accelerate clinical research by enabling universal trial access for patients. Through our solutions; The Metasite™ and Patient Recruitment, we accelerate enrollment by expanding the reach of clinical trials to patients beyond the traditional site and rigorously qualifying patients prior to referring them to a traditional site. Our solutions are powered by a proprietary technology stack with in-house medical and operational experts that enhance quality through standardized workflows and best-in-class study orchestration.

The Manager, Patient Recruitment will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to enhance clinical patient recruitment, feasibility studies, and overall recruitment strategy. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the effective and efficient recruitment of patients for clinical trials, optimizing recruitment processes, and driving strategic initiatives to support the company's clinical research objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include but are not limited to:

Clinical Patient Recruitment:

    1. Develop and implement comprehensive patient recruitment strategies to meet study enrollment targets.
    2. Coordinate with clinical sites to ensure timely and effective recruitment.
    3. Monitor recruitment progress and implement corrective actions as needed.
    4. Utilize data-driven approaches to identify potential patient populations and optimize recruitment efforts.

Feasibility Studies:

    1. Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of potential clinical trial sites.
    2. Analyze site capabilities, patient populations, and historical performance to determine suitability.
    3. Collaborate with site management teams to gather necessary data for feasibility assessments.
    4. Provide recommendations based on feasibility study outcomes to inform site selection decisions.

Recruitment Strategy:

    1. Develop and execute strategic initiatives to enhance patient recruitment and retention.
    2. Identify and implement innovative recruitment methods, including digital marketing and community outreach.
    3. Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to create patient-centric recruitment materials.
    4. Track and analyze recruitment metrics to measure the effectiveness of strategies and make data-driven adjustments.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

    1. Work closely with clinical operations, site management, and project management teams to align recruitment strategies with study goals.
    2. Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including investigators, site staff, and external partners.
    3. Provide training and support to site personnel on recruitment best practices and protocols.

Process Improvement:

    1. Identify opportunities for process improvements in patient recruitment and feasibility assessments.
    2. Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to streamline recruitment workflows.
    3. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in patient recruitment methodologies.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Qualifications 

The following qualifications are preferred and/or equivalent applicable experience:

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical research, patient recruitment, or related roles.
  3. Strong understanding of clinical trial processes and patient recruitment methodologies.
  4. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret recruitment data and make informed decisions.
  5. Proficiency in using recruitment and feasibility assessment tools and software.
  6. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  7. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  8. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.

Capabilities 

  1. Up to 20% travel, as needed, for project team meetings, client presentations and other professional meetings/conferences as needed
  2. Ability to communicate in English (both verbal and written)

REPORTING

Position reports to the Sr. Director, Channel Marketing & Global Healthcare Partnerships. The reporting leader will assign projects, provide general direction and guidance. Incumbent is expected to perform duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision.

DIRECT REPORTS

This position may have direct reports, including recruitment coordinators and specialists, depending on project requirements and organizational needs
