Manages all campus office moves, furniture acquisitions, furniture warehousing and distribution. Works closely with Project Managers during projects on furniture removal, reimplementation, redistribution, sales and purchases if needed. Designs and maintains computerized and physical inventory systems of furniture for Middlebury College.
This is a full time, benefits eligible, salaried position with a hiring range of $47,675-$59,604.
Core Responsibilities:
- Plans and coordinates all office moves for faculty and staff including coordinating resources for moving, office repairs, furniture selection and cleaning.
- Manages furniture acquisition process for replacement furnishings/equipment and supports project managers in acquisition of furnishings/equipment for projects as requested. Coordinates furniture repairs and replacement. solicits feedback from stakeholders and prioritizes budget spending.
- Maintains up to date inventories of furnishings in buildings, warehouses, and storage units.
- Oversees furniture asset/disposal in accordance with Controller’s office policy. Alerts Controllers office when assets need to be removed. Completing sales slips for items that are sold/ donated and depositing money in the correct accounts.
- Contracts and manages outside movers/contractors for projects and moves across campus including overseeing large-scale moves related to building renovations/projects.
- Coordinates and implements various department and institutional programs including but not limited to: Operations uniform program, college radios including regulatory licensing and acquisition of ceremonial/award plaques.
- Manages to assign budgets, recommends/requests funds for new/replacement furnishings/equipment.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of similar experience required. Experience in an educational, construction, real estate management, or architectural environment preferred. Associate's degree preferred.
- Ability to obtain required skills and proficiency.
- Strong knowledge, experience, and proficiency with task specific computer applications. Basic knowledge of building construction and related terminology/methodologies.
- Ability to listen and consider the views of others. Qualities of strong commitment, dedication, organization loyalty and honesty are required.
- Demonstrated leadership in implementing change, fostering a high level of teamwork and customer service and technological advancement. Ability to address and make decisions while adhering to policies.
- Maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must be willing to work other than normal working hours and be willing to respond (if available) to emergency and service calls which occur outside of normal working hours.
- Must be a self-starter, able to work well under pressure, handle multiple tasks concurrently, attend to detail and meet deadlines.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Requires the ability to move building to building in various weather conditions frequently including moving furniture items in buildings and warehouses. Frequent walking, bending, and stair climbing required. Criminal Background Check
