Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager of Annual Giving and Engagement to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission by developing and executing strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward donors capable of contributing gifts up to $25,000 annually. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of children and families while working within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive annual giving plan aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives, with a focus on securing gifts up to $25k.
  • Lead the design and implementation of a new annual giving program, offering the opportunity to build and shape its structure, processes, and strategies from the ground up.
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of individual donors, including major donors, prospects, and supporters, leveraging personalized and innovative approaches.
  • Collaborate with the development team to create compelling fundraising appeals, campaigns, and initiatives designed to engage and inspire donors and drive participation in the annual giving program.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors through personalized communications, meetings, and recognition opportunities, ensuring a high level of donor satisfaction and retention.
  • Build third party events/DIY programs.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to analyze donor behavior, track fundraising progress, and identify areas for growth and improvement within the annual giving program.
  • Work closely with program staff to gather compelling stories, testimonials, and impact data to effectively communicate the organization’s mission and accomplishments to donors and enhance fundraising efforts.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging opportunities in annual giving and donor engagement to inform strategic decision-making and maximize results for the annual giving program.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Nonprofit Management, Fundraising or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, with a proven track record of soliciting and closing gifts at the $25k level or higher.
  • Strong understanding of annual giving principles, techniques, and strategies, with a focus on donor-centric fundraising approaches.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively engage and inspire donors from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful fundraising campaigns, appeals, and events.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data, evaluate performance metrics, and adapt strategies to achieve fundraising goals.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential donor information.
  • Collaborative team player with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
