The Dangote Group, one of Nigeria's most diversified manufacturing conglomerates, is seeking a talented individual to fill the role of Manager, Mines in Gboko, Benue State.

As the Manager, Mines, you will be responsible for supporting the mining operations. This includes managing the extraction, processing, and transportation of raw materials required for cement production. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the steady supply of materials to meet production demands and maintain the Group's market leadership in the cement industry.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize mining operations, including safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Oversee the planning and scheduling of mining activities to ensure consistent material supply.
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as Production and Logistics, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Manage a team of mining engineers and technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Regularly inspect mining equipment and processes to identify potential issues and implement necessary maintenance or repairs.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational efficiency and implement improvements as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and best practices in mining operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years experience in mining operations, preferably in the cement industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mining practices, including extraction techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
