The Manager of Merchandising and Display is responsible for the creation and tactical development of visual merchandising strategies that drive sales, conversion and enhances the overall customer experience. This role owns visual merchandising strategic planning and execution end-to-end including: budget, overarching strategic vision, identifying creative execution tactics, project management of timelines/budget and communicating strategies to senior leadership. The role is accountable for managing numerous vendor relationships and negotiating pricing and SLAs. This role has end-to-end ownership of the merchandising budget. They will be responsible for developing the full year financial roadmap based on year over year spend, projected pipeline expenses and fiscal overarching business priorities. They will also be responsible for tracking the spend to the allocated budget, monitoring expenses and adjusting spend throughout the year to ensure all operational costs reside within budget.
Visual merchandising strategic planning and objective setting to drive Retail sales growth & improve the in-store experience (30%)
Plan and execute the appropriate merchandising strategy required to launch national campaigns. Function as an innovator and partner with various teams in marketing, operations, brand, products and logistics to develop tactics that drive sales and conversion in store via engaging merchandising displays. Develop new innovative retail initiatives and displays that evolve the visual merchandising approach.
Team roadmap & budgeting with focused on alignment with business priorities (30%)
Forecasting yearly budget for all merchandising and display initiatives, ensuring yearly spend stays on track and providing tangible ROI on all dollars spent. Creating reports and presentations on fiscal roadmap and deliverables. Communicating regularly with Field Leadership to collaborate on visual merchandising tactics and direction and to highlight key product assets that drive traffic and increase sales.
Managing vendor/stakeholder partnerships (20%)
Vendor onboarding and relationship management to ensure deliverables are clear and on schedule. Collaborating on new asset creation, modifications and deployment based on evolving business priorities.
Competitive landscape analysis (10%)
Analyzing competitors regularly to increase knowledge and understanding of ways to gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace and strategizing with senior leadership on merchandising tactics and initiatives to foster growth.
Leadership & development of team members (10%)
Direct support to team members on tactical initiatives where required, evaluate and develop the skills of all team members, create and execute visual merchandising SOPs and training.
