As the Mechanical Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for development of hardware platforms, managing a team of mechanical engineers, and working with other engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop the mechanical components of our next generation of POS devices and subsystems.
Develop part designs and mechanical systems from concept to production.
Enable and mentor mechanical engineers on your team and grow them professionally
Manage engineering relationships with manufacturing partners
Collaborate with a cross-functional team to deliver world class devices.
Understand the restaurant environment and design products to survive it.
Root-cause various issues (design, manufacturability, production) to optimize designs to successfully take products to mass production.
Design for function, reliability, human factors, manufacturability, and cosmetic requirements.
Support reliability issues related to products that are in the field and being used by our customers.

Requirements and Qualifications:

BS degree in mechanical engineering
10+ years of experience developing smartphone or handheld devices
3+ years experience managing engineering teams
Experience with mechanical design and manufacturing processes, such as plastic, glass, rubber, metal components, PCBs/FPCBs, soft goods and opto-electronic physical designs used in electronic products.
Experience with decorating technologies like painting, anodization, plating, printing and coatings.
Experience with part/tool qualification.
Hands-on, real-world troubleshooting experience (root-cause analysis, 8D reports, corrective actions, etc)
Experience with building strategic partnerships and working day to day with manufacturing suppliers
A bias towards action, with the ability to balance between getting things done and making things perfect
Experience in a rapidly growing business and identifying opportunities as the business evolves over time.
Experience working with remote teams residing in multiple time zones.
