Job Description

We’re looking for a Manager, Global Business & Employee Communications to play a crucial role as a subject matter expert in using internal channels to drive employee engagement. Specifically, you will work closely with the Global Communications team to carry out strategies to engage and inspire employees to advocate/execute against business priorities, while supporting efforts to communicate enterprise milestones. This will be a critical role reporting to the Director, Global Business & Employee Communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Employee Communications Strategy: Partner with cross-functional teams to create the multi-year vision and strategy that outlines how to build employee advocates and inspire action against enterprise priorities.
    • Partner with the Communications Measurement & Insights team and Segment Communications team to develop an understanding of our employee audiences globally, ensuring that our employee communications strategy is based on audience insights.   
    • Partner with Story Lab and System Activation to leverage existing/new channel(s) and develop an editorial plan for a routine cadence of communication to employees meant to drive reputation and business outcomes.
  • On-Going Enterprise Storytelling & Activation: Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and execute against opportunities that advance the enterprise narrative with the employee audience.
    • Cultivate trusted partnerships with business leaders and their teams.
    • Identify, train and deploy leadership, subject matter expert and local market voices across System channels to advance the narrative. 
    • Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and streamline storytelling efforts across employees.
  • Milestone Announcements: Develop integrated communications strategies and creation of materials for enterprise communications milestone announcements for employee audiences.
    • Develop materials, including communications plans, leader messages, talking points and Q&A.
    • Equip leadership cohorts (senior leadership team and people managers) with tools on how to highlight McDonald’s efforts internally.
    • Develop activation plans on channels for key business initiatives and milestone announcements. 

 

  • BA/BS degree required.
  • Prior corporate communications experience – both in strategy development and in execution
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills, with an eye to messaging for a range of internal communication channels and audience types.
  • Excellent verbal communications skills.
  • Experience advising and working with senior executives.
  • Ability to navigate, orchestrate, and work through complex issues with a strategic, tactical, and fresh perspective.
  • Proven ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment and support multiple high priority work streams and at times, with ambiguous undefined circumstances.
  • Self-starter with strong sense of initiative and focused on results.
  • Effective collaborator who will work cross functionally across teams and geographies/ time-zones.
