Are you passionate about Financial Planning, Analytics and leading a team to success?
We are looking for a proactive, data-centric, and service-oriented Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis for our Head Office in Calgary. This role will be responsible for leading and coordinating the annual budgets, monthly forecasts and bi-monthly results storytelling processes through leadership of a team of Business Partners.
A Day in the Life:
- Lead annual budget planning and monthly financial forecasting process
- Provide financial consulting and strategic support to senior and executive management including financial presentations through various reporting mediums
- Work towards increasing strategic effectiveness of the team through partnerships with the Manager, Corporate Accounting
- Advance mandates of the CFO Portfolio of teams through collaboration with the broader leadership team
- Respond to the needs of the business units your team supports
- Coach and mentor direct reports and peers
- Drive process consistency in the team and increase the insights and value delivered to other internal teams
- Identify opportunities for improvements and use AI tools to optimize work processes
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting, Finance or Economics
- CPA designation, or combination of years of experience plus willingness to start the CPA program in the next 6 months
- 5+ years of related experience in financial planning, analysis and budgeting
- 2+ years of experience leading a team and serving internal clients at an executive level
- Outstanding written/oral communication skills with a partner-focused approach
- Natural collaborator with strong interpersonal skills and win-win mindset
- High attention to detail coupled with excellent financial and analytical abilities
- Strong understanding of accounting and finance principles (e.g. Corporate Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables, Billing & Revenue)
- Ability to work well in high pressure, changeable situations while managing competing priorities
- Strong working knowledge of MS suite of products (Word, PowerPoint), advanced understanding of Excel and natural curiosity for process improvement and optimization
