Our Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager who is passionate about DevOps, Cloud Native Infrastructure, and enabling their fellow engineers by paving a road for teams to ship continuously and reliably to Production. For Snyk, Production covers a multi-cluster, multi-region design across a range of deployment options: Multi-tenant SaaS, Single-tenant SaaS, and On Prem solutions.

You’ll Spend Your Time:

  • Defining the developer experience strategy at Snyk by outlining to your team best practices around testing, deploying, and releasing software and infrastructure changes quickly and reliably with the constant aim of decreasing the cognitive load on engineers.
  • Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the delivery performance and quality of R&D teams. The success of your team will be evident in the improvement of these KPIs across R&D groups, driven by the tooling and consultancy provided by your team.
  • Collaborating with Snyk's R&D teams to optimize their use of the Developer Experience platform. Identify and lead the development of new features and capabilities within this area.
  • Leading the team in day-to-day Agile practices, ensuring predictable and repeatable successful outcomes.
  • Managing and mentoring your team members, fostering their professional growth and career advancement. 

What You’ll Need:

  • 2+ years of demonstrated success in managing, mentoring, and growing high-performing engineering teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong communication skills  - you are someone who thrives in cross-functional environments, building collaborative relationships and incorporating valuable feedback into team plans. 
  • Experience building and maintaining automation tooling. 
  • Ability to break down complex problems, analyze data, and lead the team to innovative solutions that align with customer needs.
  • Hands-on experience in software development with a strong technical background in cloud, security, DevOps, or developer tools. Familiarity with Snyk’s technology stack, including JavaScript, Node.js, Python, Go, Kubernetes, and Docker, is a plus.

We’d be Lucky if You: 

  • Are open-minded and willing to challenge the status quo, seeking innovative approaches to building, delivering, and operating infrastructure at scale. 
  • Are experienced in distributed system architectural challenges. 
  • Are experienced in working with multiple cloud providers, CI/CD tools, and delivery metrics platforms. 
  • Enjoy working on early stage products; talking with customers to identify, prioritize and solve problems iteratively and build something that they really love. 
  • Feed off complex technical problems and find solutions where others see roadblocks.
  • Embrace challenges and learn from them.
