Protegrity is seeking experienced professional for our product R&D team which creates enterprise data security ecosystem for global organizations. As a Product Owner, you will also be part of an end-to-end process of product development starting from problem definition to a customer release. As part of R&D team you will also contribute to product development, its testing in a fast-paced Agile environment. As part of talented team, you will mentor and oversee talented engineers and make them more effective with your experience and skills. This position is perfect for seasoned technology professionals interested in mentoring/leading people/teams and at the same time stay abreast with cutting edge technology.
To qualify, you must have minimum 12 years of relevant experience in developing software & managing teams. You will contribute to shaping up skills in R&D teams/individuals and report into R&D director.
Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility is to manage research and development of a product. The person should have techno- managerial abilities to deliver product features, work with associated technologies and manage the team delivering it. Will be responsible for the development and testing of the product end to end.
- Take full ownership of the technical aspects of the release for the product/feature/POC. Act as a technical advisor to the stakeholders, product management, scrum teams and cross functional teams. Ability to clearly assert technical challenges and dependencies for development and test teams and take corrective actions
- Maintaining the conceptual and technical integrity of the Features or components of the product. Ability to technically articulate product features/limitations and communicate impact to dependent teams
- Contribute to managing technical talent and skills in the organization. Take ownership of performance management, competency development, learning and career development opportunities for your team members, follow processes laid down by HR. Manage team resources including hiring and onboarding the right people as per company requirement and direction from leadership.
- Keep the teams and individuals focused on achieving product and organization goals. Align the teams and individuals to the required skill levels to effectively contribute to their jobs. Lead the team/individuals with motivation and examples.
- Participate as a process contributor in one or more Agile teams. Work with the Scrum Master to set rationale objectives for team members. Your expertise should help team members to have clear requirements and focus on the goals to be achieved for every sprint and release. Assist to Agile teams to prioritize Product Backlog and to streamline execution of project priorities in conjunction with set goals as per the leadership guidance.
- Adaptability to learn and enhance skills in the domain of data security alongside the product’s technology requirements
- Ability to review work of reporting engineers.
- Ability to communicate clear and crisp status to all stakeholders. Take necessary course corrective actions as and when the need arises.
Qualifications:
- 12+ years post-bachelor’s degree experience in software development leading teams
- Soft Skills
- Leadership and Team Management – Provide technical guidance and build high performance team to deliver organization goals. Should be self-driven and maintain team motivation. Ability to mentor & review work of other engineers. Necessary soft skills to be demonstrated for review/mentorship of engineers inside the team and across the teams
- Communication - Effective written and verbal communication to collaborate with agile teams, Product Management and customers seamlessly. Collaborate with other functions in the organization effectively to ensure effective implementation of various operational processes and best practices to improve team efficiency
- Excellent soft skills to collaborate and maintain rapport across teams and individuals.
- Sufficient knowledge of office productivity tools to represent formal exchange of technical content & interpersonal communication.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills - Should employ Analytical skills and creative thinking to gather and analyze data, solve problems and to make optimum decisions quickly.
- Technology Skills - Good knowledge of working in any one or multiple of the below technology domains
- Should have experience in the domain of Logging and Analytics.
- Should have experience of working with distributed systems on a large scale.
- Good programming expertise. Preferred programming languages Python, Java, C/C++
- Good to have Skills
- Hands on knowledge in OpenSearch / Elastic Search or any other SIEM
- Hands on experience in working with Linux & Windows OS
- Cryptography and Security (Network Security or Information Security or Data Security)
- Familiarity to DevOps and automation tools.
- Familiarity to source code management tools like GIT.
- Knowledge of modern SDLC practices, agile methodologies & tools such as JIRA.
- Understanding of data security requirements and associated standards like NIST, OWASP, PCI-DSS etc.
- You should be well informed of the latest trends in your technology skill area.
