What a Data Scientist does at Visa:
- Leading, executing, and delivering data science projects for one of Visa's key bank clients in Thailand.
- Hands-on development of detailed project scopes and methodologies, as well as designing, and implementing solutions using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Ensuring quality control and maintaining up-to-date documentation for all data science projects.
- Monitoring client portfolio growth data, identifying spending trends, and pinpointing growth opportunities using non-traditional data and new modeling techniques.
- Providing data support for card campaign design, including identification of customer spending tiers, set-up and maintenance of Test & Control groups for campaign targeting, and performance tracking of ongoing and tactical campaigns.
- Comparing card portfolio performance with the market to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for uplift, utilizing both Visa's and client’s data.
- Regularly tracking and benchmarking the portfolio dashboard, focusing on market segments and channel opportunities, and providing data-driven insights to enhance performance of both ongoing and ad-hoc/tactical campaigns.
- Enhancing existing data science and analytical techniques by promoting new methodologies and best practices.
- Fostering thought leadership in the data science domain and building intellectual property through innovation.
- Managing communication with clients and stakeholders effectively.
- Advocating for data science within partner organizations, advising and coaching analytical teams, and sharing best practices and case studies.

What you will need:
- A degree in a Quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Computer Science, Economics, or Engineering. A master’s or Ph.D. would be an advantage.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant work in performing data exploration and feature engineering.
- Proficiency in statistical techniques including Neural Networks, Gradient Boosting, Linear & Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, Random Forests, Markov Chains, Support Vector Machines, Clustering, Principal Component Analysis, Factor analysis, etc.
- Proficiency in using query languages such as Python, and in Data Analysis and Management Tools such as Dbeaver, SQL, Power BI.
- Strong ability to interpret complex data into actionable insights to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Demonstrated experience in managing multiple concurrent analytics projects involving diverse cross-functional stakeholders.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible approach.
- Excellent presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Proficiency in storyboarding data storytelling, with strong skills in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
- Understanding of local market conditions and industry regulations.
