The CEMEA Credit & Settlement Risk (CSR) team is responsible for proactively assessing and mitigating credit & settlement risks faced by Visa CEMEA, an integral part of one of the world's largest payment networks. Predominantly, the team manages settlement risks related to corporates and financial institutions across a vast portfolio, requiring risk-based prioritization and an understanding of balancing risks against rewards. An opportunity exists to join this highly respected team, which provides subject matter expertise across the Visa CEMEA organization and is part of a global CSR infrastructure.

The CSR Manager will be part of the CEMEA Risk team, managing credit and settlement risks associated with banks, non-financial organizations, credit unions, fintech companies (including startups), microfinance institutions, and various payment schemes across the CEMEA region. They will be responsible for managing REACT (Risk Exposure & Authorizations Controlling Tool), a credit risk management system that monitors authorizations and halts transactions when risk thresholds are reached for specific clients and BIN groups.

The incumbent will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as Country teams, Strategic Partnership, Risk managers, Licensing, and Treasury. They will also provide support to the CEMEA Credit Settlement Risk team with various reporting and analytics types. This position will report directly to the CSR Director, located in Bangalore, India.

Responsibilities:

  • Compiling and analyzing complex datasets, then producing informative reports using Excel, graphs, pivot tables, and presentations.

  • Establishing new clients in REACT and analyzing clients' volume trends across various systems to determine an appropriate level of decline/informational alerts.

  • Regularly manually checking and updating data for clients in REACT. This includes factors like the number of elapsed clearing days, types of volumes monitored (international, domestic, or both), sponsorship relations, BINs list, accuracy of email accounts, correct text of alerts, adjusting decline thresholds and open-to-buy limits to only disputes and collections volumes, and amending limits when collateral is received/released.

  • Manually adjusting REACT decline limits to unsettled positions on a daily basis.

  • Researching countries, banks, and companies to assist Visa in growing and developing its global market leadership.

  • Supporting the CSR team with the annual rating review process.

  • Preparing reports for senior management and the Global Credit Settlement Risk team, such as the outstanding settlement report, the Watchlist, and the acquiring risk monitoring report.

  • Supporting the overall CEMEA Risk Management and Regional Management in achieving specified strategic and operational objectives.

  • Cooperating closely with other diverse areas of Visa, including the Business Development, Strategic Partnership, Operations, Licensing, Legal, and Risk Management departments, as well as with other regions and the Global Credit Settlement Risk team.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Basic Qualifications
5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at
least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA,
JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications
8 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 4 or more
years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD,
MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD

The successful candidate should be independent and a fast learner, capable of operating with minimal supervision. They should possess the following:
Demonstrated experience and expertise in risk management.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, mathematics, or a related field.
Heightened analytical and problem-solving skills.
The ability to work under pressure and manage stressful situations.
Readiness to respond after-hours, weekends and holidays to major risk matters.
Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills. The candidate should be a
team player, approachable, professionally mature, and have strong relationship
management skills.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to synthesize information and draw
clear, concise conclusions.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Self-motivation and organization, able to handle multiple tasks while focusing
on results.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
