We are seeking a Director of Manager Coverage to join our team in New York City. This senior, high impact position will play an instrumental role in expanding relationships with new and existing asset managers on the CAIS platform during a transformative time for our growing business. As the primary contact for asset manager distribution leaders leveraging the CAIS platform, you will maintain regular touch points—keeping partners appraised of metrics, highlighting new or underutilized platform tools and capabilities, and by providing strategic insights that empower distribution teams to capitalize CAIS’ $4T independent wealth network.

As the inaugural hire in this team, this is an excellent opportunity for an entrepreneurial, energetic, and sharp leader to shape and scale a new function that delivers on key organizational goals and contributes to CAIS’ platform expansion objectives. You will bring a deep understanding of the independent wealth management space as well as expertise spanning a broad and diverse range of alternative investment products. This highly collaborative position will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver optimal outcomes for asset managers and CAIS alike.  

Responsibilities:

  • Strategically expand and deepen partnerships with new and existing asset managers to facilitate their entry and growth within the independent wealth management channel
  • Oversee the seamless launch and ongoing management of asset managers on the CAIS platform, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with strategic objectives
  • Develop comprehensive strategies that align with both asset managers' distribution goals and the needs of independent wealth advisors
  • Work closely with senior management at partner firms to uncover data driven business opportunities through CAIS platform technology
  • Participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholders to showcase independent wealth management channel expertise, articulate the immense fund-raising opportunity, and highlight our rigorous due-diligence process
  • Streamline sales communications by regularly updating external distribution team on positioning investment strategies, macroeconomic themes, and essential selling points to ensure targeted and consistent messaging
  • Assist in the planning and execution of manager roadshows and other engagement initiatives, enhancing visibility and interaction with key asset managers
  • Collaborate with the sales team to launch new products effectively, ensuring strategic product positioning and the success of sales campaigns/events
  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationships across various business lines and corporate functions to facilitate efficient product onboarding and integration
  • Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation to advance strategic goals
  • Lead special projects and assume additional responsibilities as needed, tailored to leverage individual capabilities, skills, and interests
  • Develop and maintain a deep expertise across all CAIS investment products and business areas
  • Manage and regularly update manager materials to ensure they reflect the latest information and strategies, supporting ongoing education and engagement

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relationship management, investor relations, business development or external sales experience covering national accounts in the alternative investment space 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, or a related discipline required 
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience at the intersection of asset management and independent wealth management
  • Demonstrated expertise spanning a broad and diverse range of alternative investment products
  • Ability to deliver a complex and varied product and technology offering to sophisticated clients
  • Strong track record of building and maintaining client relationships with key decision makers
  • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and learns quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong commitment to continuous professional development and improvement of the team
  • Excellent client service aptitude and attitude
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Suite and Salesforce
  • Series 7 and 63

CAIS’ compensation package includes a market competitive salary, a performance bonus, and exceptional benefits. If you are located in New York, New York, the base salary range for this role is $200,000 - $270,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
