The Manager of Corporate Development & Investor Relations will play a key role in driving Waabi’s strategic growth initiatives, investor relations efforts, and external communications. Working closely with Executive Leadership, this role will identify and execute growth opportunities, while effectively representing Waabi’s vision and value proposition to stakeholders.
As an external-facing role, the primary focus will be on developing and implementing initiatives that support Waabi’s long-term growth and competitive advantage. You’ll collaborate with leadership and senior stakeholders across finance, commercial, and product teams to shape strategy, enable fundraising and drive execution. This position offers a unique opportunity for a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills to make a significant impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Corporate Development:
- Strategic Planning: Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and industry dynamics to identify strategic growth opportunities and assess potential risks.
- Financial Modeling & Analysis: Partner with finance to evaluate strategic initiatives, including forecasting, scenario analysis, and unit economics assessment.
- Due Diligence: Lead comprehensive research and due diligence on potential business opportunities, collaborating with cross-functional teams for insights.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with finance, legal, product, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of corporate development initiatives.
Investor Relations:
- Investor Engagement: Build and nurture relationships with existing and potential investors, lead capital-raising efforts, and effectively communicate Waabi’s performance and future plans.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare quarterly and annual reports, presentations, and financial disclosures, clearly conveying key financial and operational metrics.
- Investor Meetings: Plan and execute investor meetings, roadshows, and other capital-raising activities.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor investor sentiment, market conditions, and competitor activities, providing insights that inform Waabi’s internal strategy.
External Communications:
- Corporate Narrative: Collaborate on crafting Waabi’s strategic narrative to ensure consistency across investor relations, media, and public relations efforts.
- Board & Executive Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior leadership, providing strategic recommendations and updates.
- Media & PR Support: Assist in managing external communications related to corporate development and investor relations.
Strategic Projects:
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Work closely with the executive team to shape corporate strategy, lead special projects, and assess new business opportunities.
- Thought Leadership: Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, developing strategies and translating business objectives into actionable initiatives.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in top-tier investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or corporate development, with a focus on the technology sector.
- Bachelor’s degree or MBA (or equivalent experience).
- Proven track record of leading and executing strategic investments / M&A.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience in investor relations.
- Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong expertise in financial analysis and driving end to end deal execution.
- High attention to detail, strong business acumen.
- Ability to work collaboratively and drive results with senior leadership.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, unstructured environment and work independently.
- Curious, fast learner with a data-driven approach.
The US yearly salary range for this role is: $132,000 - $255,500 USD in addition to competitive perks & benefits. Waabi's yearly salary ranges are determined based on several factors in accordance with the Company’s compensation practices. The salary base range is reflective of the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Note: The Company provides additional compensation for employees in this role, including equity incentive awards and an annual performance bonus.
