Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization. This role involves leading a team of accountants, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, a proven track record in financial management and experience with accounting for international subsidiaries.
Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger Management: Ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions in the general ledger, including journal entries and reconciliations. Optimize accounting processes by identifying opportunities for automation & efficiency by ensuring all solutions are compliant with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company accounting policies.
Team Leadership: Hire, train, manage and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support in day-to-day tasks, including but not limited to performance evaluations, and professional development.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts, analyzing variances and providing insights to senior management.
Internal Controls: Assist the Senior Director to develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
Audit Coordination: Assist in the coordination with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing any inquiries.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and legislation, ensuring compliance across all accounting practices.
System Management: Collaborate with IT to enhance and maintain accounting systems and software, ensuring efficient processes and data integrity.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Ability to execute in a dynamic, fast-paced, and demanding environment.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Experience with internal controls and process improvements.
Knowledge of financial systems, analysis methodologies and technical standards applicable to corporate accounting and finance.
Demonstrated ability to solve complex business problems.
Team player with excellent communication skills including the ability to develop relationships.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
