The Role

AXS is seeking a Manager Accounting, to join our team in Los Angeles. The Manager Accounting will oversee a group of accountants and manage performance through regular feedback and coaching sessions, fostering a culture of excellence and professional growth. This role involves meticulously managing recurring accounting tasks and procedures as well as offering invaluable accounting insights to drive company initiatives forward while adhering to applicable accounting standards. 

 

What Will You Do?

  • Supervise a team of accountants, including Sr. & staff accountants. Prepare, review and/or ensure completion of recurring activities including, including journal entry approvals, month-end/year-end closings, reconciliations, financial reporting.
  • Assist internal departments providing accounting expertise and support ongoing company initiatives, enhancing the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
  • Assists Controller in researching applicable accounting standards to ensure internal and external compliance in recording and reporting transactions.
  • Leads team performance through regular feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations, fostering a culture of excellence, engagement, and professional development.
  • Advise on areas from improvement seeking efficiency and effectiveness in all processes.
  • Serve as a key liaison with external auditors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders, facilitating audit requests and addressing inquiries in a timely manner.

 

What Will You Bring?

  • 5+ years in accounting
  • 2+ years leading and mentoring a team
  • Excellent working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Proficient knowledge of accounting software systems (JD Edwards & Oracle)
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Outlook))
  • Detailed oriented with a focus on accuracy at all times
  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate to finance and operational upper management.
  • Strong work ethic and high-level Detail oriented and organization skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adaptable to various business situations
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English
  • Hands-on experience working with multiple companies/legal entities
  • Accuracy at all times even when working under pressure in meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate meetings, presentations, and training sessions.
  • Leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.

 

Pay Scale: $97,830 - $114,109
