As a Management Accountant at Xapien, you will play a substantial role in supporting the financial processes and reporting health of the organisation by providing insightful management information to aid decision-making at all levels. You'll work closely with stakeholders in all areas of the business, and at all levels. Your role will be hands on, looking after transactional finance through to producing timely reports, as well as contributing to the development of financial processes and controls.


You will provide exceptional service, advice on budgeting and forecasting, and influencing performance improvement, ensuring that the financial goals of the business are met. This position offers a unique opportunity to combine your practical experience and abilities and technical accounting expertise with a proactive approach, making a direct impact on the company’s growth and success.

 

Core responsibilities 

 

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts by calculating revenue, including Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) and deferred revenue, as well as managing accruals and prepayments to ensure clear visibility of the company’s financial performance.
  • Run payroll for our UK team, ensuring real-time processing of benefits and completing payroll year-end activities to maintain compliance and accuracy in employee compensation.
  • Assist the Head of Finance with budget and forecasting processes, providing essential support in developing financial plans that align with the organisation's strategic objectives.
  • Manage transactional finance activities, including issuing sales invoices and credit control. You’ll process purchase invoices, create supplier payment runs and reconcile expenses to ensure accurate payments.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations across multiple bank accounts and currencies, prepare VAT returns, and assist wit the administration of the EMI share option scheme, ensuring tax compliance and smooth financial operations.

Technology you will use / learn
Microsoft Excel, Xero

 

Knowledge of VAT and Experience Preparing VAT returns - You will use your knowledge of VAT to accurately prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

Experience Producing Management Accounts - You will use your management accounting skills to prepare monthly financial statements, including revenue calculations (ARR and deferred revenue), accruals, and prepayments

Ownership of Sales and Purchase Ledgers - You will use your expertise to manage the sales ledger (issuing invoices and credit control) and the purchase ledger (processing invoices and managing supplier payments).

Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills - You will use advanced Excel skills to analyse financial data, using tools such as lookups and pivot tables to support accurate reporting and forecasting.

Salary: £40,000-£45,000 per year
