JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Major League Performance Dietician
Department: Baseball Operations
Reports To: Director – Health & Wellness
Status: Full Time, Exempt
Directly Supervises: Minor League Performance Dietician, Intern(s)
Primary Objective: The ML Performance Dietician will work as part of a multi-disciplinary High-Performance team and is responsible for overseeing the nutrition and hydration needs of the Seattle Mariners Organization. They will serve as a liaison between both the Performance and Medical components of the High-Performance Department on all matters relating to nutrition and hydration as it pertains to player health, return to play, and performance.
Essential Functions:

Provide an individualized nutrition plan for each Mariners player on the 40-man roster
- Initial consultation with each athlete
- Development of nutrition and supplement plan based on this consultation
- Regular follow-up with each athlete depending on need
- Availability for as needed consultation if concerns develop

Provide guidance (in conjunction with the Director of Health & Wellness, VP of ML Operations) to the Mariners Catering Coordinator regarding meal planning for all Major League Meals (at home, on the road and on the team Charter)

Direct Major League Team nutritional supplement plans including brands utilized, specific supplements recommended and NSF compliance

Direct performance laboratory program for 40-man roster players in conjunction with Director of Health & Wellness. This will include selection of panel of labs, frequency and timing of the testing, interpretation, communication of results and development of individual response plan.

Supervision of Minor League Performance Dietician and all Minor League Sports Nutrition systems and programs
- Development and implementation of robust player and staff nutrition education curriculum.
Education and Experience:
Required

A minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience
- Current licenses and certifications - Registered Dietician (RD)
Preferred

Master’s degree in Nutrition/Dietetics
- Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD)
- Culinary Dietetics Experience Preferred

Experience in a professional or high-level athletic setting

Position is based in Seattle, Washington.
The Mariners are committed to providing a competitive total rewards package for our valued Team Members. The anticipated compensation for this role $100,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience. We also provide complimentary parking and paid public transportation.
