As the Maintenance Technician II, you will have the opportunity to support all of our Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest locations through performing repairs including carpentry, painting, and general plumbing and electrical duties. This position will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the online Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including mobile application monitoring.
The Maintenance Technician II works closely with internal executives, directors, managers and staff of multiple stakeholder groups as well as outside vendors when necessary to ensure projects are implemented within the given time frame.
In this role, you'll get to:
- Work in clinic environment on technical maintenance issues and tasks and supervise and monitor contracted vendors & technicians when required.
- Perform carpentry work including repair fences, cabinet doors/drawers, and hang and plane doors from plans, oral instructions, sketches and blueprints.
- Perform plumbing repairs to sinks, faucets, drains, toilets, domestic water supply lines and storm drains.
- Maintain and repair all lighting needs including, but not limited to: troubleshooting electrical problems, replacing outlets and switches, breakers, and install light fixtures.
- Maintain and installs new cabinetry and counter tops as needed.
- Maintain and ensure all doors and drawers are in good working order.
- Perform basic framing of new stud walls, insulate, and hang drywall. Tape, mud, and texture drywall. Primer and painting of new and/or damaged walls in all buildings.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and blueprints.
- Monitor and maintain online CMMS including responding to telephone calls, e-mail, and other requests for maintenance.
- Ability to work with end user mobile application for CMMS.
- Make general deliveries and pickups to and from clinics as needed.
- Maintain working knowledge of all OSHA codes and regulations.
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Ensure and maintain accurate records of time and materials spent on jobs.
- Detect and report defective materials or any questionable or unsafe conditions to the Facilities Manager or Maintenance Supervisor.
- Respond to emergency repair requests and is available for after hours or weekend on-call as needed.
- Responsible for the distribution of work orders in the Facilities department including: tracking and monitoring the work order to ensure timely resolution while providing excellent customer service
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- 3+ years of basic maintenance experience.
- Experience working with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) programs including end user abilities.
- Availability for after hours and weekend on-call status.
- Experience working from plans, sketches and blueprints.
- Experience with use and care of hand tools, hand held, and large, stationary power tools.
- Demonstrated painting skills.
- Ability to lift weights of 100 pounds.
- Ability to drive/ride in maintenance vehicle for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to utilize dolly to move furniture and equipment.
- Ability to perform at journeyman level in at least 2 construction/maintenance trades including but not limited to, carpentry, plumbing, electrical.
- Ability to assume lead responsibility in skilled maintenance and preventative maintenance work
