Maintenance Technician (elec biased) | 2 days 2 nights - 4 off | 6 till 6
Referred to internally as Multi-Skilled Engineer.

The Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer will provide shift-based engineering planned preventative maintenance and breakdown support. Your engineering expertise will be key to the production process to ensure high levels of productivity are maintained on production lines.
Core Responsibilities
- Carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance Routine.
- Use of CMMS for work orders and stock control.
- Maintain safety standards on all machines..
- Ensuring process equipment operates efficiently, to maximise uptime & minimise downtime.
- Maintaining close attendance of the production line, in order to provide Engineering solutions, and assist in an operational capacity when required.
- Ensuring that any rectification is followed through with suitable RCA and escalated appropriately.
- Contractor control on site including permits to work and LOTO.
- Support continuous improvement projects.
- Support Operations in team huddles, representing the Engineering function.
- Liaising with suppliers to ensure correct specifications and procure components
- You'll have the opportunity to mentor and develop our Engineering Support Operators.
Who you are
The ideal person for the role will have great experience in and understanding of FMCG, Food manufacturing, Automation e.g. Box erectors, pallet wrappers, logic simple air systems, conveying equipment, PLC control principals, batch/process line flow concept, Warehouse automation & Pick by Light systems. You will also have:
- Knowledge of PLC fault finding and pneumatics
- Hazard & Risk Assessment qualification, isolation & check for dead, IOSH desirable, understanding of dynamic risk assessment.
- You'll be working with all levels of colleagues, where good communication is key
- Experience in full Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement processes
- Working knowledge of H&S standards and ability to maintain them in the work environment.
- PUWER, LOLER and manual handling trained.
- Control systems knowledge.
- Competent user of MS Office and Google Docs.
Qualifications mandatory for this position:
- Apprenticeship trained & Electrically qualified (Multi-skilled preferable)
- Qualified to a minimum of City & Guilds, HNC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering essential, mechanical ability is desirable.
