Maintenance Supervisor I (Fort McCoy)

WinnCompanies is searching for a Maintenance Supervisor I to join our military housing team located in Fort McCoy, WI.

In this role, you will assist in coordination of subcontracted activities and/or assist with training and coaching of maintenance staff. At least 50% of the time, responsible to perform maintenance functions such as completing service requests and COM activities in the community, including rental units, office buildings, residential areas, grounds and parking lots. You will also ensure that all service is performed safely and results in favorable customer feedback.

Please note that the work schedule will be as follows: Monday through Friday, from 8:00AM to 5:00PM, with the possibility of on-call shifts every other week.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to service calls, complete COM work and other property maintenance requirements.
  • Resolution of any maintenance related issues with residents concerning maintenance department and condition of the home.
  • Elevate issue up to supervisor as needed. Must be able to handle issues of a more sensitive nature requiring a higher level of customer service skills.
  • Maintain a close and highly responsive relationship to the day-to-day activities of the technicians, subcontractors, and residential service coordinators to facilitate the service and COM requirements for the location assigned.
  • Adjust technician’s schedules as needed to complete all work requests in a timely manner.
  • Develop and support technicians. Assist in the coordination of technician training, truck stock inventories, vacation planning, and company meetings.
  • Responsible for duties of Maintenance Technicians, Service Order Coordinators, COM coordinators and other Field Supervisors in their absence or as required.
  • Perform Quality Control checks for service request process for technician and subcontracted work to ensure time and quality expectations are met.

  • Service Order Coordination includes investigation resident complaints and resolve when possible and coordinating subcontractor work and schedule specialty work to be performed outside of the normal appointment system.
  • COM Coordination includes scope and identify tasks required for COM including estimating time and cost to complete repairs, coordinating contractor work.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 3-5 years related work experience.
  • 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Experience with computer systems, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills. 
  • Availability for on-call activity during off-hours for urgent needs.
  • Ability to speak and understand basic English.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personalities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational or technical training.
  • Carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC or appliance certifications.
  • Geothermal and military knowledge.
  • EPA certified.
