For this exciting position, we are specifically targeting students who have a background in Mechanical Engineering and experience with heavy equipment, process flows, and procurement. Depending on the needs and location of the team, you will need to work PDT or MDT or relocate to a specific office (site-based). You must also currently be a student enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution and will be enrolled throughout the duration of the co-op term (you will also be returning back to the post-secondary institution once the co-op term is completed). Proof of a valid work permit will also be required, if applicable.

Responsibilities
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Collaborate with planning, execution, and supply teams to produce an end to end warranty process within the mechanical maintenance group
- Coordinate with suppliers to determine requirements of the warranty process to gain the greatest return to the business
- Work with skilled trades to understand the failure modes of components within the Mine Maintenance department
- Project Management; opportunity to assist in coordination of maintenance projects relating to plant, mine and maintenance expansions and modifications; responsible for coordinating, scheduling and monitoring the status of maintenance projects
- Monitor project budgets and identify inefficiencies and offer cost effective solutions
- Build and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business
Qualifications
- Working towards an Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Comfortable working in a multifaceted industrial work environment with a range of engineering, technical and operational personnel
- Willingness to work outdoors and able to operate vehicles at our operations, in various weather conditions and terrain
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a capability to communicate complex ideas to all levels
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
- Experience with reliability tools (FMECA, FMEA, RCM, RCA, Pareto Graph, Jack-Knife Diagrams) would be an asset
- Able to work efficiently independently as well as part of the team
- Demonstrated ability to learn innovative technologies and platforms quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Ability to communicate with precision in a technical environment
- Able to articulate sophisticated concepts clearly and in a way a diverse audience would understand
All students will also be required to complete pre-employment drug testing prior to commencing work.
Salary Range: $4600 - $5900 / Month
Salary is commensurate with the number of academic semesters and prior co-op experiences completed.
