JOB TITLE: Site Engineer Handyperson
REPORTING TO: ABM lead Engineer & Contract Manager
LOCATION: Marlow Buckinghamshire
CONTRACT: Full Time permanent
HOURS: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday
SHIFT PATTERN: Monday to Friday
SALARY: Competitive
ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE
To provide planned maintenance as per the PPM planner, minor in house upgrade and refurbishment and reactive support to site for any calls relating to the M&E and fabric services for the site. This role will have a level of sub-contractor management for attending specialist sub-contractors. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated engineer to work on a multi building site based on the Marlow Campus, with buildings ranging from grade 2 star listed status to modern refurbished offices, as part of an existing team in close partnership with the client and clients’ representatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a positive relationship with all clients, stakeholders, colleague’s, attending contractors, Attending ABM specialist engineers and ABM audit teams.
- Carry out weekly / monthly PPM on water hygiene testing, emergency lighting testing, fabric PPM. logging, and recording in site logbooks. Communicating failures to ABM manager and administrator. Managing jobs through to completion.
- Carry out minor fabric works including painting, tiling, basic carpentry, roof leaks lock replacements and basic fabric tasks.
- First call for drainage issues, for initial investigation and rectification
- Updating of the ABM CAFM System and manual logbooks.
- Minor limited electrical and plumbing repairs. Such as lamp replacement, tap changes, toilet repairs.
- Maintaining site stock levels.
- Sub-contractor escorting on site and follow up of remedial issues with ABM lead engineer / Contract manager and administrator.
- Comply with all ABM quality, environmental and Health and Safety policies and processes.
- Maintaining compliance Proactive and can-do attitude in dealing with all matters related to the maintenance and operation of the site.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Previous proven experience working within FM in an occupied premises carrying out PPM and reactive tasks. Site specific training will be provided.
- Honest and trustworthy with great communication skills.
- IT literate on Microsoft applications.
- Ability to work at height, training will be provided.
- Committed and dedicated to achieving high standards or workmanship and taking pride in your work. Organised in your approach to your workload to ensure deadlines are achieved.
- Ability to carry out multi skilled PPM and repair tasks
- Flexible when required with working hours or over time to ensure works are completed out of hours when required.
- Safe working – working to all ABM H&S policies and procedures.
- L8 water hygiene qualified – Training will be provided.
- IPAF / PASMA Qualified – Training will be provided.
- IOSH H&S qualified or similar – Training will be provided.
- C&G or equivalent in trade related skills.
- Ability to review suppliers RAMS – Training will be provided.
- Previous experience of fire door inspections beneficial.
- Positive and proactive approach to the working day.
- Ability to prioritise workload in an ever-changing environment, sometimes at short notice based on clients’ requirements or emergency situations.
- Good level of personal fitness.
- Understanding of obtaining best value though ABM suppliers to achieve best value to the client.
- Environmental awareness – Specific training will be given on ABM and clients policies and procedures.
