What You’ll Be Doing:
- Maintain a safety and quality mindset and follow all safety and quality guidelines and protocols
- Set-up, operate, stage, and breakdown production equipment and/or machinery within the assigned production area(s)
- Lock out and tag out equipment during set-up, troubleshooting, or if adjustments need to be made to the equipment or machinery
- Report any and all incidents regarding safety, quality and production to Production Crew Lead, Production Supervisor, Production Manager, Safety Manager or Quality Manager
- Learn and operate assigned machinery within the manufacturing plant, including within assigned production area(s) and in others are deemed necessary
- Make adjustments to machine components according to finished product specifications and production rate for the assigned production area(s)
- Verify materials or product received onto the production line match the product label and production schedule for the day
- Troubleshoot problems during operations and adjust machine in cases of malfunctions or jams
- Clean machine and assist in performance of preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery
- Communication production information to other shifts (pass downs/shift transitions)
- Provide direction to employees on the production line when Production Crew Lead or Production Supervisor is absent, maintaining professionalism with all employees
- Assist with movement of product and/or material within the assigned production area(s) utilizing pallet jacks
- Support the production line by stepping in to assist on an as-needed basis due to absences or breaks
Preferred Qualifications (Note: These are preferred and not required. We strongly encourage you to apply even if you don’t tick ALL of these boxes.):
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 2+ years of experience operating machinery
- 1-2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Prior experience working in a food or pet food manufacturing facility (preferred)
- Experience working with ERP system (preferred)
- Lock Out/Tag Out certification (preferred)
- Lift truck certification (preferred)
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move 25 pounds
