Avery Dennison Reflective Solutions is looking for an embossing technician to join our manufacturing team at our Mt. Prospect, IL plant. 

Pay rate for this position is $21.58 per hour with a $2 shift differential.

Shift is - 11PM-7:30AM, M-F (3rd Shift)

Job Description

The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating the embosser, according to standard operating procedures. In this role, you will work 3rd Shift, Mon-Fri (11pm-7:30am).  *3rd shift Monday starts at 11pm Sunday night.  Overtime opportunities are regularly available, depending on the needs of the business.

This posting is for the Mt Prospect Embossing department and is subject to shift alignment. All interested individuals are encouraged to apply, with those currently in the Mt Prospect Embossing department receiving first consideration.

Activities and duties may vary depending upon site-specific needs and daily work assignments. Essential functions may include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform the Six Sigma starting procedures.

  • Read photometric samples.

  • Wash and lubricate belts.

  • Create shop packets.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, efficient and productive workplace.

  • Maintain utilization and minimize downtime, within departmental guidelines.

  • Make decisions regarding quality issues.

  • Utilize continuous monitoring devices and other measuring equipment regularly.

  • Maintain accurate paperwork for the production lot, including Q.C. data and inventory information.

  • Perform additional duties, as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience required.

  • Have general knowledge and ability to work with computers and programs (Excel, Word, Email, MFGPRO).

  • Able to work with others in a team environment.

  • Basic reading, writing and mathematical skills are required.

  • Regard safety as a core value; must serve as role model for other employees and encourage adherence to safety practices, policies and procedures.

  • Be able to actively contribute in a team-based environment. Encourage open communication and positive interaction with peers and management to effectively reach a common goal.

  • Have a strong service and quality focus, be able to address issues effectively when problems arise and take initiative to understand the root cause. Communicate / educate the team in a timely manner.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in essential tasks of the job and a willingness to learn and share knowledge; must take initiative to cross-train and sustain acquired skills.

  • Have demonstrated a record of flexibility and dependability in order to support production and customer focus.

  • Have a strong detail orientation and be able to follow written and oral instruction.

  • Be able and willing to work overtime, including short-notice requests.

  • Able to lift 50 pounds.
