POSITION SUMMARY

Machine learning is the enabler for every financial service EarnIn provides its community members. We are going through transformative investments in machine learning platforms and algorithms. We aim to lead the innovation and operational excellence in machine learning for the fintech industry. We seek talented and motivated students and recent graduates with a strong background in deep learning, language models, programming, and data analysis to join our team as a Machine Learning Intern. You will work on real-world projects, collaborate with experienced professionals, gain valuable experience in the fintech industry, and realize business and social impact. This position will be based in our Palo Alto HQ and will require in office work at least 2 days a week. The pay for this position is $30.00/hour and the role is full-time for the duration of the internship which will be 8-12 weeks. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO 

  • Collaborate with the machine learning team to design, develop, and implement machine learning models and algorithms.
  • Understand the key metrics needed for such model evaluations.
  • Analyze large and complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and insights that can drive business decisions.
  • Develop and maintain codebases for machine learning projects, ensuring best practices in coding and documentation.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in machine learning, deep learning, and fintech, and share knowledge with the team.
  • Gain hands-on experience with a wide array of technologies, including Pytorch, AWS, Kafka, Databricks etc.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Strong foundation in machine learning, deep learning, and statistical analysis.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, and familiarity with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Experience with data manipulation and analysis using tools like Pandas, NumPy, or SQL.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
