We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Software Engineer with a focus on NLP and data engineering. In this role, you will be responsible for data cleanup, scripting, and working in our Machine Learning team to enhance our conversational AI tools. This position reports to the Staff ML Scientist.

This is a Hybrid position based out of our headquarters in Boston, MA.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on next-generation conversational AI tools with an emphasis on practical implementation
  • Train, evaluate, and deploy NLP models with REST API
  • Analyze machine learning models and data to derive actionable insights for model improvement
  • Conduct data cleanup and preprocessing tasks to ensure high-quality input for machine learning models and create benchmarking data for various NLP tasks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective data processing solutions
  • Implement and maintain data pipelines for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes
  • Take ownership of data quality, ensuring accuracy and reliability throughout the data lifecycle
  • Investigate and incorporate new tools and technologies that enhance data processing efficiency and overall system performance
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to write scripts and optimize data processing workflows

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 2+ years of professional experience in a software engineering role, with a focus on data cleanup and scripting
  • Solid programming skills, with proficiency in Python and experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Pandas, NumPy)
  • Previous experience in NLP and familiarity with machine learning fundamentals
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on projects
  • Experience with deploying applications on cloud platforms, preferably AWS
