Wolt is hiring a

Machine Learning Engineer, ML Platform

Berlin, Germany
Full-Time

We are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join our Machine Learning Platform Team!

The ML Platform team builds and operates our in-house ML tooling and empowers other teams across the organization to build ML products from search and personalization to time-estimates, forecasting, embedding pipelines and generative AI.

Our platform consists of our exploration and training infrastructure, model tracking and deployment as well as our feature engineering platform. We make use of and contribute back to leading open source projects in the ML space but increasingly build our own tools to match Wolt’s global scale. We view ourselves as a product team that aims to provide a wolt-grade user experience to anyone in the company that is working with machine learning and AI.

As a Machine Learning Engineer on our team, you will work closely with our stakeholders to understand their needs and develop scalable solutions. Your day-to-day work will involve designing and implementing new tools, optimizing existing pipelines, and ensuring seamless integration with our platform. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to help them deliver impactful ML solutions that power our products. Your contributions will directly influence how machine learning shapes the future at Wolt.

  • You have a background in software engineering and/or machine learning engineering and have experience with the ML lifecycle, from exploration and training to deployment and monitoring.

  • Previous experience of working with or as an Applied Scientist is also helpful in order to be able to speak the same language with the different applied science teams.

  • You have a user-focused mindset, considering big picture and impact of the final internal platform user, beyond the technical implementation and development

  • We work with Python, Snowflake, Kafka, Postgres, Ray, AWS & Kubernetes. Previous experience with those technologies is highly recommended but don’t worry, we’re not expecting you to know everything before joining!

  • Good communication and collaboration skills are essential to be able to work with different teams at Wolt and to collaborate with our stakeholders.

The position will be filled as soon as we find the right person, so make sure to apply as soon as you realize you really, really want to join us!

The compensation will be a negotiable combination of monthly pay and DoorDash RSUs. The latter makes it exceptionally easy to be excited about our company growing and doing well, as you’ll own a piece of the pie.
