M&A Finance Analyst

As part of the Global Finance team, this role supports the M&A Unit Leadership team’s value creation initiatives and acquisition performance reporting. This role will play a crucial part in helping the M&A unit make informed decisions to keep acquisition performance on track with the original Business Plan. The M&A Finance Analyst must be passionate about building Power BI expertise with a commitment to develop these skills.

The tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Building and continuously developing our M&A KPI dashboard in Power BI to monitor critical KPIs and track acquisition performance. 
  • Creating visually appealing and easy-to-understand dashboards and reports to communicate complex data insights.
  • Connecting Power BI to various data sources, consolidating data, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the information.
  • Optimizing the performance of Power BI reports and dashboards to ensure quick response times and efficient data loading.
  • Collaborating with Global Integration leadership to understand their data needs and delivering solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Building out the monthly acquisition PMI packs with the latest acquisition KPIs for reporting to IFS Senior Leadership.
  • Collate acquisition Bookings and P&L performance across the M&A business unit, creating monthly excel packs for the leadership team with high level commentary.
  • Review the Corporate Development team’s business plan and models during due diligence on future acquisitions to ensure integrity and identify errors.
  • Support monthly board reporting, other shareholder reporting and audit committee reporting lined to the M&As.
  • Examine financial data received from acquisition finance teams, identifying trends, and extracting meaningful insights to support decision-making.
  • Obtaining pre-acquisition key metrics and ensuring they are stored in IFS systems.
  • Generating regular financial reports to support the M&A unit.
  • Be a trusted provider of information to the M&A unit, ensuring providence and reliability of data received and used to provide insight.

Specifically, you will have:

  • Experience creating and continuously improving Power BI dashboards for stakeholders, ensuring data integrity and timely delivery of updated data. You’ll have worked with Power BI in a previous role and be looking to develop this skill.
  • Experience creating analysis and insight for senior leadership, with excellent data presentation skills.
  • Ability to show attention to detail while working with large volumes of data, but also be able to step back and see “the big picture”.
  • Ability to deliver in a fast paced, transformational environment driving change and continuous improvement with a positive attitude and critical mindset.
  • A problem solver who creates solutions where standard processes don’t exist.
  • Ability to work under pressure and capable of managing numerous work streams.
  • Flexible & collaborative, being able to work at a strategic & hands-on level.
  • Very clear communicator with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

You will be a qualified accountant or Finance degree with MBA or related Masters and have experience working with Power BI in prior roles. You will have a genuine passion for developing your expertise in Power BI and have a mindset of continuous improvement to our BI models.

In addition, you are fluent in written and spoken English. We expect you to be located so you can work from our Colombo office. Travel may be occasionally required.
