M&A Business Analyst

The M&A Business Analyst plays a vital role within the Corporate Development team, tasked with conducting market research and delivering insightful recommendations regarding merger and acquisition opportunities for the business. This role demands a diverse skill set encompassing the ability to identify, research, prospect, analyze, and present potential acquisition targets or strategic partnerships to Corporate Development leadership.

The purpose of the M&A Business Analyst role is to lead the research and support the analysis of strategic partnerships, alliances, and organization for acquisitions. This role supports Corporate Development activities that in turn support the growth and innovation plans of Miratech.   The Analyst will be responsible for the execution of business development, relationship management, market research, and financial analysis In addition to this purpose, the Analyst will play a key role in facilitating successful transaction execution and integration. This involves participation of project management duties and overseeing the administration of due diligence activities, all while maintaining active communication with cross-functional departments.

Responsibilities

  • Research and curate prospect company lists, creating detailed profiles for identified ideal candidates on company size, known financials, examining their customers, markets, and geographical reach.
  • Proactively reach out to potential firms, securing appointments through various channels including internet prospecting, referrals from partners and employees, networking, and database searches.
  • Analyze financial data and develop intricate financial models to support potential acquisitions or partnerships. This will include valuation models with sensitivity analysis to explore various scenarios.
  • Monitor key metrics, ensuring the accuracy and currency of gathered data, and produce reports for leadership consideration.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with target entities, facilitating the advancement of strategic discussions.
  • Track and manage a repository of transactions and industry trends to inform decision-making processes.
  • Perform other activities as maybe requested by the company and/or all implied by the purpose of your role.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required.
  • Ideally, 1-3 years of experience in M&A, preferably within the technology services industry and across share and asset purchase transactions.
  • Proficiency in applying creative skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment with strong analytical abilities, specifically in financial analysis and valuation models such as Discounted Cash Flow Analysis, Comparable Valuations, and Precedent Valuations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective interaction with prospective business leaders.
  • A proven passion for analytics and deriving insights from processing raw information and data.
  • Strong research, analytical modeling, and technical skills.
