About the Role
As a Licensed Vocational Nurse you will impact the lives of residents through providing ongoing professional health care.
What You’ll Do
As a member of our team you will have an impact on our clients through accomplishment of the following responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to individual service plans and administer prescribed treatments.
- Conduct meaningful rounds with residents and record visits on charts.
- Administer injections, perform in-house testing procedures, and record vital signs.
- Document acute episodes or significant changes in resident status.
- Supervise and assign duties to nurse aides, monitor their work, and assist in carrying out the activities program.
- Collaborate with the Activity Director, DON, and nurse aides for optimal resident care.
- Communicate with physicians and follow through with orders. Handle medication preparation, administration, and documentation.
- Monitor condition of medication room, cart, and refrigerator.
- Chart accurately and in accordance with facility policy and state guidelines.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
To be successful in this role and a great addition to our team we need you to come with the following:
- Basic understanding of specialized knowledge acquired through high school education and college/vocational school.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current Texas licensure as an LVN.
- Familiarity with medical diagnoses, procedures, and treatment patterns.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Professional commitment to Christian principles aligned with our mission.
- Experience in in-service instruction of nursing personnel.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and universal precautions.
