Role and Team
The Lot Operations Manager reports to the Operations or designated manager and is part of the Operations team. This position leads the Lot Operations at the auction and is responsible for ensuring the lot is properly organized and the auction vehicle flow is running smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Develop strategy and collaborate with other departments to achieve operational objectives.
- Coordinate the daily activities related to vehicles being in the correct location and ready for the auction. This includes organizing the flow of vehicles and working with other teams to coordinate and schedule daily lot movement.
- Ensure department safety compliance and training.
- Training all employees within the Department on standard operating procedures. Provide performance feedback to team members.
- Control parking lot conditions and assign cleaning tasks as needed (i.e. lot clean and orderly, grass and weeds cut). Conduct daily inspections to determine if appearance meets standards for cleanliness, proper maintenance and safety.
- Manage department labor hours, timekeeping, scheduling and attendance.
- Provide prompt and courteous service to all customers. Advise senior leaders of all serious complaints or incidents.
- Maintain a professional appearance and neat work environment.
- Maintain and promote positive employee relations and morale by practicing sound leadership to promote teamwork at all times. Set a good personal example of attitude and performance. Promote company values and culture.
- Ensure proper follow-through on all directives. Assist in employee meetings to communicate Company objectives, resolve lot issues and build teamwork among the employees. Maintain a good flow of communication with all team members.
- Assure good operating condition of all equipment including service trucks, tow trucks and snow plows. Ensure good routine preventative maintenance.
- Report any lot incidents and participate in incident investigation and implementing preventative measures.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of leadership/supervisory experience
- Automotive/auction experience preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision and have strong organizational skills
- Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license that meets the requirements
- Able to safely drive a variety of make/model/sizes of vehicles
- Must have the ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools.
- Must have a demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
