We are looking for Logistics Drayage Manager who can lead our domestic part in the inbound freight forwarding Team.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the shipment and delivery processes of departing trailers/containers from W/C T/L center or Laredo, TX, ensuring timely and accurate operations.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and analyze spot delivery conditions and customer requirements, including appointments, equipment needs, and dock hours.
  • Plan and execute transportation routing methods, such as trans-loading and pre-pull, to meet customer expectations.
  • Source and negotiate with pre-qualified carriers to handle irregular or urgent freight efficiently.
  • Manage shipment schedules and coordinate with carriers to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
  • Oversee transportation arrangements and provide support to customers throughout the shipping process.
  • Monitor and evaluate spot freight performance using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate with carriers to provide feedback and implement improvements in efficiency and performance.
  • Maintain strong internal communication with relevant departments to align logistics operations.
  • Record and track spot freight pricing and conditions, including fuel surcharges (FSC), chassis fees, and accessorial charges.
  • Verify and collect proof of delivery and associated costs for completed shipments.
  • Support the freight audit team by providing accurate cost and condition details for spot freight arrangements.
  • Implement innovative strategies to improve efficiency, increase profitability, and enhance service offerings.
  • Monitor and track inbound shipments for customers importing into the U.S.
  • Audit invoices for FBA, demurrage/detention (DEM/DET), and operational accessorial charges based on contracts with customers and carriers.
  • Manage accounts receivable (AR) by ensuring timely collections and addressing overdue invoices within agreed terms.
  • Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, providing key insights to customers and internal management including participation in periodic customer meetings.
  • Lead and manage team members, overseeing overall work scope and responsibilities.
  • Perform ad-hoc reporting and additional duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 8+ years of logistics drayage management and operations experience or logistics related relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of international transportation (especially ocean shipping) / freight forwarding industry
  • Experience in establishing a transport plan that can optimize loading rate, transport time and logistics cost
  • Experience in leading a group of team members with effective leadership
  • Ability to manage within goals by considering in time, budget and business objectives
  • Use creative thinking and strategic problem-solving techniques
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • A good attitude and ability to work in a team setting
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite and other applications
  • Prioritization skill, able to shift focus to urgent issues while not falling behind on other duties
  • Ability to build trustworthy relationships with vendors/customers, and experience with vendor management
  • Ability to travel up to 20% in U.S.
  • Required to work onsite Santa Ana, CA

Your base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This allows you to progress as you grow and develop within the position. The base pay range for this role is between $90,000 ~ $120,000 per year, and your base pay will depend on your skills, education, qualifications, experience, and location.
