JOB SUMMARY
The Logistics & Receiving Specialist coordinates timely transportation with external logistics companies for the business and its customers by working with Sales, Production, and Supply Chain Departments. Other responsibilities include supporting the Receiving Department with entering customer orders and releasing Shop orders to Production.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Utilize ship list/customer requirements/purchase orders and quotes to ensure accurate shipping instructions.
2. Schedule trucking companies and manage daily shipments, including shipment cancelation and changes to pickups.
3. Create all corresponding shipping documents (freight bills, customs documentation, etc.).
4. Create customer invoices for all shipped items and forward invoice via specified invoicing method. Scan and attach final invoice package.
5. Calculate/reconciliate daily/monthly sales totals along with material discrepancies.
6. Reconcile any freight charges paid by CRT and review with A/P.
7. Support Receiving Department with entering customer orders and releasing to the shop orders to production.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Self-motivated and detail-oriented individual.
2. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
3. Able to read and understand detailed documentation.
4. Ability to learn and follow CRT policies and procedures within the trial & orientation period.
5. Intermediate to advanced computer skills including MS Office tools such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
1. Three to five years’ previous logistics experience in preferably a manufacturing environment.
2. Experience managing domestic and international freight including customs filings.
3. Experience with ERP system.
4. Experience with Vendor Freight Software such as Fed-Ex and UPS.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
1. Must be able to pass a vision test and a fitness-for-duty test.
2. Follow general shop safety procedures including the occasional use of safety glasses, safety toe shoes, and hearing protection.
3. Occasionally required to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 10 lbs.
4. Able to manually operate office equipment.
5. Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time.
