The Role

Moonbug entertainment is looking for a Localisation Manager to lead the Localisation Department within the Studio team. Reporting to the Director of Production, you will be overseeing the localisation of content in both live action and animation for multiple international broadcasters and platforms. As a Localisation Manager, you will be responsible for managing projects within the end-to-end localisation workflow. The content features both dialogue, narration, and songs. The workflow involves liaising with several internal departments, most especially Distribution, Delivery and our YouTube management team, Platforms.

In addition the Localisation manager will liaise with external vendors to commission the highest quality dubs at the keenest possible price. Moonbug uses a number of existing vendors but is keen to explore expanding its supply base and open to suggestions from candidates. Furthermore, in a market characterised by rapid change and technological advance, an awareness and understanding of new localisation tools and techniques is a must.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years experience in a similar role. Experience managing a small team is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage each step of the localisation process: receiving orders, creating quotes and schedules, tracking delivery status, tracking costs, acting as the conduit between Moonbug and dubbing partners
  • Maintain clear and consistent project status reporting for project partners and other Moonbug Departments.
  • Keep a running record of financial data for each project to ensure expenditure does not exceed the budget.
  • You will issue/oversee Purchase orders and check/approve invoices.
  • Propose suggestions to the team and wider business for process improvement and tool and system optimisation.
  • Lead weekly Localisation meetings with team members
  • You will be the main point of contact for all Localisation across the company.

Requirements

  • Great verbal and written communication skills.
  • A good understanding of music so you are able to assess singing applications.
  • Self-starter and enthusiastic
  • Competent user of Excel / Google Sheets / AirTable
  • Detail-oriented, quality-focused with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and communication skills
  • Successful project management of concurrent small to medium sized projects.
  • Proven track record of managing language localisation projects (3 to 5 years experience min)
  • Strong links with vendors in multiple territories
  • Thorough understanding of localisation rights and AORs
  • Experiencing managing a team, empathetic and effective leadership style

Desirable

  • Proficiency in one or more languages in addition to English
  • Knowledge of Adobe Premiere, Monday.com
  • Interest in technology and new and emerging applications
  • Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and able to manage
