IO’s Finance, Technology, and Lending Enterprise Team ensures that IO is a financially efficient and effectively managed organization and that the agency’s finances are monitored, reported, and managed appropriately. The team also manages the infrastructure lending program, which has supported more than $19 billion in local infrastructure development, and IO’s Information Technology and Business Services, providing tools and systems to ensure secure, effective, and efficient operations.

IO’s Loan Program is established to provide low-cost construction and long-term financing to certain eligible borrower sectors.  Currently, the outstanding loan value of IO’s loan program is about $6.3 Billion, and supports billions in project value across the province of Ontario.  
 
The bulk of IO’s loan portfolio consists of loans to municipalities across Ontario.  The Loan Program also provides financing to other sectors, including not-for-profit affordable housing, not-for-profit long-term care providers, municipally owned local distribution and electricity generation providers, hospices etc.  Our projects are evident in nearly every municipality across the province.  Consider joining this team which plays an integral role in modernizing infrastructure in your community.   
 
This position requires an individual who can manage the loan application process, short and long-term financing needs, banking transactions, internal/external requests for data, and operation of the loans systems.

Reporting to the Manager, the Loan Administrator, this position is a fantastic opportunity for a Loan Administrator to join IO’s Loan Program team. As part of the Infrastructure Ontario Lending team, this role will provide support and coordinate the loan administration responsibilities of the loan portfolio. 

What you will do:

  • Provide advanced administrative support to the Loan Operations, Customer Relations, Commercial Underwriting and Grant Administration teams, including: acting as backup for Loan Officers when they are temporarily away, meeting coordination, lending document preparation and management, coordination of marketing events, client interaction and specific tasks and projects as assigned.
  • Respond to internal and external data requests, including audit summaries for loan information and produce reports for senior management/ministries regarding the status of the loan applications and cash flow activity.
  • Provide annual information statements, payment statements and interest accrual statements to clients as required.
  • Administer payments for IO’s loan portfolio.
  • Administer property tax payments as part of loan portfolio management duties.
  • Any other tasks and responsibilities as required.
  • This role is a key function in the Lending department and will provide a high level of administrative support to various teams based on the overall priorities and deliverables due at any given time.

Who we are looking for:

  • Advanced experience in an administrator role providing client service within a professional services environment.
  • Experience working with databases (i.e. entering and tracking information and generating reports) and managing high-volume and complex workloads in a business environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to work within tight deadlines.  
  • Ability to manage various documentation and complex processes.  
  • Basic knowledge and appreciation of business, finance and lending practices, excellent database management and spreadsheet skills, and have a high level of comfort dealing with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Exceptional time management and prioritizations skills, a professional attitude and the ability to handle confidential, complex and delicate issues and information tactfully and diplomatically.
  • Previous experience in financial services, loan administration, and/or lending would be considered a strong asset.

The hiring range for this position is $60,900 -$91,400 with a corresponding job level of P1
