Lighting Designer

JOB SUMMARY:

The Lighting Designer is responsible for producing engaging, immersive, and innovative lighting designs that will resonate with and inspire our church attenders during worship experiences, services, and events. This individual will work diligently with church staff leaders and creatives to collaborate in developing the lighting design for a variety of projects. This role requires a proactive individual who is both a thinker and a visionary with an understanding of theatrical, concert and broadcast lighting practices. The individual’s positivity, team-oriented attitude, robust lighting design, and communication skills are desired.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Collaborate closely with content and production teams to create and implement compelling lighting designs that enhance our worship experiences and messages during weekend services and events. 
  • Use creativity, innovation, and technical expertise to create lighting design elements that ensure our brand value and visual standards are upheld across all CF locations/venues.
  • Apply problem-solving in lighting design projects with the ability to quickly provide solid design solutions that resonate with our church attendees. 
  • Work lock-step during the production process to ensure the final creative lighting content is executed as intended.
  • Intentionally invest and assist with training CF Production Dream Team 
  • Ability to juggle multiple responsibilities, projects, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Maintenance of the lighting systems which includes changing blown lamps, focusing fixtures, cleaning fixtures, helping facilitate repairs, maintaining console show files, and system documentation.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma required, college degree preferred.

RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years of experience in live production with an emphasis on lighting and lighting design.
  • Experience working live events, including arena rigging, lighting, and lighting designs.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with various lighting software: grandMA2/3, Hog 4, MS Office, Vectorworks, WYSIWYG and Pathscape.
