About the Job

Sovrn is looking for a Legal Intern to assist with several temporary contract administration projects on a temporary, contract basis.  The responsibilities of the Legal Intern will include working closely with the legal and business teams to review, analyze, and organize a wide variety of contracts, with a focus on customer and data acquisition and distribution agreements.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Participate in day-to-day operations of the Legal Team.
  • Assist in monitoring legal and regulatory developments relevant to the company's operations.
  • Support compliance efforts by reviewing policies and procedures and identifying areas for improvement.

The successful candidate will have: 

  • Must be currently enrolled and return to law school for 2024 fall semester
  • Bachelor’s degree required; currently enrolled first- and second-year law students are preferred
  • Possess a basic knowledge and understanding of legal terms and conditions 
  • Personal Strengths – Positive attitude, organized, self-motivated, willingness to learn, and flexibility to adapt to ever-changing responsibilities and work environment are musts.
  • Attention to Detail – Must be able to consistently demonstrate a strong attention to detail in all aspects of the position.
  • Communication Skills - Must be able to communicate effectively and in a concise manner, both verbally and in writing, to internal and external audiences.
  • Process Management - Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously on your own and together with a team.
  • Problem Solving – Must be able to solve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully and efficiently; and work well in group problem solving situations as well as independently.
  • Adaptability - Adapt to changes in the work environment; prioritize competing demands; change approach or method to best fit the situation; be able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events; appreciate the opportunity to adjust and adapt with growing business.
  • Professionalism - Must have a high degree of professional ethics and integrity and must display sound judgement.
  • Computer Skills – Proven expertise in the Microsoft Office Suite. Salesforce experience is a plus. Must have the ability to learn how to navigate a contracts management software. 
  • Legal Research- Proficient research skills with and without various legal databases, with the ability to analyze findings and communicate results in a precise and concise manner.
  • Legal Writing – Must have excellent writing skills and some experience in drafting, editing, analyzing, and reviewing contracts in preparation for execution.

Compensation

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate compensation range for this role in Boulder, Colorado is $25.00 an hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills and certifications.
