OpenX seeks a privacy intern to join its Legal team. The Company seeks a smart, innovative and creative thinker to inform the Company’s privacy platform and processes as it continues to expand its market leadership role as the world’s largest independent ad exchange and a leader in market quality.
The internship will begin in the summer and there is a possibility for part-time work during the academic year.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- When you join our Company, you will be engaged on many cutting edge privacy issues as they relate to our business.
- Responsibilities include:
- Receiving, documenting and responding to different data and privacy requests.
- Reviewing, updating and documenting internal and external company policies as they relate to data processing and privacy.
- Researching historical material regarding government regulations and laws on privacy, data protection and other related topics.
- Conducting diligence on different business partners to understand their approach to compliance with applicable privacy laws.
- Analyzing and processing inbound and outbound requests from our different business partners to confirm they are compliant with applicable privacy laws.
- Staying current and reporting to the legal team on the latest privacy initiatives and developments within the advertising industry and with government regulators worldwide.
Required Skills, Education and Experience
- Solid organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
- Analytical, creative problem solver, intellectually curious and a strong interest in policies and processes relating to user data and consumer privacy.
- Strong customer orientation with excellent verbal and written communication skills to partner and build collaborative working relationships with employees and business group.
- This position requires solid business math and analytical skills.
- The ability to work under pressure and to handle job stress related to frequent deadlines, fast pace, time pressure, and flexibility in availability
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Pragmatic analyzing skills and problem-solving abilities; good judgment and decision making capabilities

- The ability to handle information of a highly confidential or complex nature

Computer Skills
- Highly proficient technical skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) are required.
- Familiarity with Google Suite (Mail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.) required.
- Comfortable reading computer code a plus
