This position will play a crucial role in supporting our legal department, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and facilitating smooth business operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the legal field, preferably within the telecom industry, and will be capable of managing a broad range of legal tasks with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and manage a variety of legal documents including contracts, agreements and NDAs
  • Ensure all documents comply with Mexican law and company policies.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct legal research and stay up-to-date with relevant laws and regulations. Specifically Privacy and Data protection.
  • Manage the contract lifecycle, including negotiation, execution, and renewal of agreements.
  • Maintain an organized contract management system.
  • Assist in managing litigation matters, including coordinating with external counsel and gathering necessary documentation.
  • Support the legal team in dispute resolution and risk management.
  • Provide legal support and advice to various departments within the company.
  • Assist with internal investigations and audits as required.
  • Be the Single Point of Contact for the Police and Judicial authorities in Mexico, coordinate internally and provide responses to Lawful intercept requests
  • Be the Single Point of Contact for PROFECO and Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Legal Studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably within a tech startup 
  • Strong knowledge of Mexican corporate and commercial law.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English.
  • Proficiency in legal research and legal database management.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a Series B or later-stage startup
  • Telecom industry experience
