Legal Counsel

Let’s start with the role

We are seeking an experienced In-house Legal Counsel to primarily focus on consumer litigation. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to investigate cases, gather evidence, draft and review responses, maintain and update internal reporting tools and serve as the primary contact for stakeholders regarding case-related inquiries. A background in labor law is a plus. 

You will work closely with the customer service team, compiling case data, providing training and proposing solutions to prevent recurring issues. Additionally, you will monitor and collaborate with external counsel, guiding them through the best approach based on collected insights.

As a Legal Counsel you will:

• Revise ongoing cases, checking for any updates or new developments.
• Attend meetings to discuss current cases.
• Review incoming customers complaints, identifying any emerging trends or issues that need legal attention.
• Collaborate with relevant teams to gather necessary evidence
• Draft legal responses to authorities or courts, engaging external counsel for complex cases, when needed.
• Conduct training sessions and workshops.
• Address case-related inquiries from various stakeholders.

What you’ll bring:

• Law degree with an active OAB (Brazilian Bar Association) registration.
• LLM or above in Consumer Law.
• 5+ PQE (post qualification experience) with relevant experience with consumer claims litigation. Experience with labor litigation is a plus.
• A highly analytical, hands-on professional who can work independently and think creatively to provide effective solutions.
• A positive team player with strong communication skills at all levels.
• Fluency in English – this is a mandatory requirement.
• Adaptability and dedication, as we are a start-up with big ambitions and there’s plenty of room for contribution.
