About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Legal Associate to join our dynamic legal team for the UK subsidiary of viva.com, VIVAWALLET.COM LIMITED. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal support and advice to the organization on a wide range of legal issues contributing to decisions that impact the company’s growth every day. The Legal Associate will work closely with the legal team and other departments (including Product & Commercial) to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, manage legal risks, and support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support to the organization on a broad range of legal issues, including but not limited to contract drafting and negotiation, employment law matters, data privacy and security, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support legal advice and decision-making.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including commercial agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and vendor agreements.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and manage legal risks and to support business objectives.
- Manage outside counsel relationships as needed.
- Act as Corporate BoD secretary for the Board of Directors of VivaWallet.com Limited
- Represent the Company to local Public Authorities and other external stakeholders for matters that fall under this role & its responsibilities.
Requirements
- JD degree from an accredited law school and admitted to practice law in the UK
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience at a law firm or in-house legal department.
- Experience in payment services (ie card acquiring) or banking industry is a strong plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and manage legal risks.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal issues to non-legal stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
