Learning and Development Manager 

 

 

Purpose and Scope/General Summary: The Learning & Development Manager is responsible for implementing and managing strategic training initiatives at JBS. This role reports to the Head of Learning & Development for a leading food production company, with a strong culture, fast pace, and dynamic work environment. Individuals that would succeed in this position are strategic, influential, strong communicators, and have excellent organization skills. This role is responsible for supporting all learning and development programs, with a special focus on the Supervisor Development Program (SDP). 

 

Responsibilities: 

  •        Partner with Operations and HR Leaders in the field to better understand their training and development needs for Supervisors across the business. 
  •        Facilitate the additional implementation of a Technical Training Program within Supervisor Development Program company wide. 
  •        Curate a detailed agenda for quarterly graduation sessions based on Supervisor needs and needs of the business. 
  •        Connect and network with executive leadership, build relationships to ensure participation in quarterly SDP Graduation. 
  •        Coordinate communication of Graduation for Supervisor Development Program with over 150 supervisors from across the company each quarter. 
  •        Lead and Execute quarterly Graduation weeks. Facilitate content and program logistics throughout the week.  
  •        Arrange and facilitate monthly virtual training for Supervisor Development Program with JBS and Pilgrim’s facilitators. 
  •        Build relationships company-wide with plant leadership and HR teams to execute Supervisor Development Program within each facility.  
  •        Prepare monthly reports on virtual session attendance and new supervisor promotions across the company. Provide accountability reporting on Business Unit performance within the Supervisor Development Program. 
  •        Maintain data of all attendance tracking and program progression of over 600 active Supervisors throughout their time in Supervisor Development Program. 
  •        Contribute to the creation and management of the budget for Supervisor Development Program. 
  •        Acquire a functional understanding of a plant operations environment and the learning needs for team members and their families.   
  •        Other duties as assigned.   

 

Qualifications: 

  •        Bachelor’s Degree or five years of work experience in program management.  
  •        Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external to the company.  
  •        Experience in a leadership role, preferred. 
  •         Experience in learning and development, preferred. 
  •        Bilingual (Spanish), preferred, but not required. 
  •        Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team.   
  •        Effective written and oral communication skills.  
  •        Ability to foster relationships and influence others.  
  •        Strategic thinking.  
  •        Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. 
  •        Can perform the functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. 
  •        As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. Unless otherwise specified in this posting, the amount of travel may vary and the most qualified candidate must be willing and able to travel as business needs dictate. 

 

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits: 

  •        Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment; 
  •        Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays; 
  •        401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;  
  •        Base salary range of $75,000 - $90,000; and 
  •        Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program;
